Join a dynamic team as a Senior Federal Tax Analyst in Houston! Reporting directly to the Tax Manager, you’ll play a key role in preparing complex federal income tax returns and managing federal tax payments. You will assist with consolidated tax provisions, forecasts, and ensure federal tax compliance while supporting the financial reporting process for both consolidation and partnership financial reporting.

What You’ll Do:

· Prepare accurate and timely federal tax returns for both single entities and consolidated groups.

· Maintain comprehensive tax documentation, supporting tax research for adjustments, and ensuring deadlines are met.

· Forecast and prepare federal tax payments, including book minimum tax.

· Prepare and manage tax scheduling files, deferred tax inventories, and calculate valuation reserves.

· Ensure tax fixed asset depreciation schedules align with accounting records.

· Handle W-9s and EIN requests with precision.

· Prepare and reconcile income tax provisions for your assigned entities, comparing prior year estimates with actual returns.

· Utilize Alteryx to update fixed assets in FAS (Sage).

· Reconcile deferred inventory to actual tax basis.

· Collaborate with auditors to compile documentation for external audits.

· Monitor and document internal controls for tax processes.

· Contribute to year-end tax memo preparation.

· Support process improvements and automation initiatives within income tax and provision functions.

What You’ll Bring:

· A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.

· A minimum of 3-5+ years of professional experience, with at least 2-3+ years of relevant public accounting or industry tax experience.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly explain complex tax concepts.

· In-depth knowledge of tax depreciation methods, amortization, and dispositions.

· Expertise in both corporate and partnership federal income tax compliance.

· Solid accounting skills and a collaborative approach to work.

· Strong organizational skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines.

· Proficiency in tax provision and return software, as well as Word and Excel.
