Senior Tax Analyst
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare US consolidated federal income tax return and ensure accurate and timely filings to minimize assessments and penalties.
- Coordinate and review local country compliance prepared by consultants and prepare return-to-provision workpapers.
- Independently prepare estimated tax payments and extensions.
- Drive and lead the gathering and preparation of calculations related to Accounting for Income Taxes under IFRS and local country guidance as applicable. Including items such as consolidation, US provision, deferred tax reconciliation and tax account reconciliations.
- Finalize and complete the resolution process for local country and federal tax notices and tax audits with various governmental agencies.
- Research and resolve international, federal, and local laws and regulations as well as proactively monitor legislative changes to ensure compliance.
- Proactively assist with tax planning and special projects such mergers and acquisitions.
- Independently document, review, and test the performance of internal controls and procedures for SOX compliance testing.
- Communicate and partner with internal stakeholders and functional representatives as well as external partners such as auditors.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of overall relevant work experience.
- Strong understanding of US income taxation and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proven track record of understanding and applying basic tax calculations, concepts, principles, practices, and standards in the performance of role evidence by the delivery of acceptable, completed staff work.
- Strong reconciliation, analytical skills with the ability to develop new processes as needed.
- Solid ability to resolve moderate to complex tax and other related issues and problems.
- Keen recognition that failures or errors in judgment, work product, and decisions have significant impacts on the business.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills to include written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal.
- Solid judgment and decision-making skills.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Must be able to work under general to limited supervision and act independently in an experienced professional/subject matter expert (SME) capacity.
- Possess the ability to effectively work independently and in an “open” team-oriented environment.
Education, Certifications & Licenses
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field of study from an accredited college/university.
- Master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, or related field of study from an accredited college/university preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
