Senior Tax Accountant
Responsibilities of the Senior Tax Accountant – Income Tax include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly ASC 740 calculations
- Assist in the preparation and review of the U.S. corporation and partnership federal income tax returns
- Assist in the preparation and review of state and local income, gross receipts and franchise tax returns
- Assist in the preparation and review of federal and state estimated income tax payments
- Assist in the preparation and review of state of quarterly tax journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assist with tax authority notices and/or audits as needed
- Assist in the development of recommendations and implementation plans and assist in making quality decisions in complex and judgmental areas
- Drive process improvements around all tax processes especially internal controls over financial reporting for tax
- Supervise the work of third-party advisors
- Assisting with other projects as necessary
Qualifications of the Senior Tax Accountant – Income Tax include but are not limited to:
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in tax or business required
- An advanced degree in tax or CPA is preferred
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in public accounting or corporate tax department
- A combination of public accounting and corporate tax experiences is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of and corporation taxation principles
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP required
- Experience with ERP systems
- Must have a demonstrated hands-on approach and success in working in a team-based environment
- Well organized; plans, organizes and monitors performance according to priorities
- Hardworking; willing to get into the details; strong analytical thinking
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Canada and Mexico tax experience a plus
