Senior Accountant
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the assigned investments:
- Month, quarterly and end-year process
- capital assets reconciliations
- fixed asset activity
- debt activity
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
- Coordinate and complete annual audits
- Provide recommendations and utilize analytical skills
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
- Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Meet financial accounting objectives
- Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
- Coordinate monthly meetings with 3rdparty management accounting for month end closing to generate well-timed and accurate financial statements for internal and external reporting on all investment entities.
- Compile supporting documents for developing properties for departmental heads to assure results and accuracy of construction draw phases and job cost tracking
Requirements
- 4-8 years of working experience as Accountant or Accounting Supervisor
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases, Yardi experience at plus
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
- Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem solving
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to direct and supervise
- Creating financial statements for clients and well as upper management
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- Self-starter with minimum supervision needed
