Manager or Senior Manager, International Tax

Location: Kansas City area

Office Schedule: Mostly remote, must be local to visit office monthly

Industry: Multinational Corporate Tax / Finance

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $110,000 – $150,000 annually + Bonus Eligibility

About the Role

This leadership role is responsible for managing the international income tax cycle, including provision, compliance, planning, and M&A support. Reporting directly to the VP of Tax, the position offers broad exposure to multinational tax strategy and operations, with opportunities for growth across global tax disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Provision & Compliance

  • Prepare and review international tax provisions under ASC 740
  • Coordinate and manage international tax compliance, including collaboration with local consultants
  • Oversee international statutory provision preparation and review

Planning & Strategy

  • Lead global tax planning initiatives and cash forecasting
  • Support international M&A transactions from a tax perspective
  • Monitor and plan for withholding tax obligations

Transfer Pricing & Reporting

  • Manage transfer pricing documentation and vendor coordination
  • Oversee intercompany accounting and tax reporting

Audit & Controversy

  • Manage income tax audits and related controversy matters
  • Ensure audit-ready documentation and compliance

Team Leadership

  • Mentor and develop tax team members
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Big Four or multinational corporate tax
  • At least 2 years of focused international tax experience
  • Strong understanding of U.S. international tax principles and transfer pricing
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Taxation
  • CPA or equivalent certification
  • 8+ years of total tax experience
