Senior Manager – International Private Client Tax Advisor
London / Hybrid working
Our client is a leading professional services firm, renowned for its commitment to quality, innovation, and collaboration.
As part of its continued growth, the firm is seeking a Senior Manager to join its International Private Client team in London. This is a high-profile, client-facing role with significant responsibility for managing relationships with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families with complex UK and cross-border tax affairs.
You will act as a trusted advisor, delivering strategic, commercially focused tax advice across a range of issues including residence, domicile, trusts, and offshore structures, while ensuring clients appropriately manage their UK tax compliance in an international context.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of a portfolio of international private clients, acting as the primary point of contact and building strong, long-term relationships
  • Lead on the delivery and review of complex UK tax compliance, including Self-Assessment returns covering worldwide income, foreign tax credits, and intricate disclosures, ensuring technical accuracy and timeliness
  • Oversee and provide technical direction on CGT (including non-resident CGT), ATED, ROE, corporation tax for non-UK resident landlords, and offshore trust reporting (IHT, 10-year charges, exit charges, CLTs)
  • Manage and resolve HMRC enquiries, disclosures, and settlements, including matters such as the Worldwide Disclosure Facility
  • Provide strategic advice on international mobility, including pre-arrival and departure planning for individuals relocating to or from the UK
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of complex advisory reports, covering structuring, cross-border tax planning, and offshore trust and corporate arrangements
  • Advise on UK property structuring and de-enveloping strategies, aligned with client objectives (investment vs trading)
  • Act as a subject matter expert on evolving UK tax legislation impacting international clients, including the transition from the remittance basis to the post-6 April 2025 regime (4-year FIG regime, TRF, and long-term residence for IHT)
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, reviewing work, providing technical guidance, and supporting their progression
  • Support Partners in business development activities, including proposals, networking, and identifying opportunities to grow the client base

Requirements
  • Professionally qualified (CTA, ACA, or equivalent)
  • Significant experience in private client tax, with a strong focus on international/HNW individuals
  • Proven expertise in UK non-domicile taxation, the remittance basis, mixed fund analysis, and cross-border tax planning
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a client portfolio and lead complex engagements with a high degree of autonomy
  • Strong commercial awareness and excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex tax issues into clear, practical advice
  • Experience managing and developing junior staff and contributing to team growth
