Interim FP&A Manager (12 month FTC)
Our client, a listed media business with a global footprint, are seeking a qualified FP&A Controller on a 12-month contract basis to take ownership of the full P&L for one of their largest business units. This role requires a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail, a skilled communicator who can influence at all levels, and a hands-on manager comfortable rolling up their sleeves.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full P&L for the marketing business, providing in-depth analysis and insights
- Develop and maintain robust financial models and forecasts
- Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly reforecasts
- Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable recommendations
- Collaborate closely with marketing leadership to support strategic decision-making5
- Present financial insights to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Provide financial guidance on new initiatives and investment opportunities
- Support the development of business cases for key projects
- Produce regular financial reports and KPI dashboards for senior management
- Analyse marketing spend effectiveness and return on investment5
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the marketing business
- Develop ad-hoc analyses to address specific business questions
- Streamline and enhance financial processes and systems
- Implement best practices in financial planning and analysis
- Mentor and develop junior team members
Required Skills:
- Advanced financial modelling and forecasting
- Deep understanding of P&L management and analysis
- Proficiency in data visualisation and storytelling with financial information
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate financial insights into strategic recommendations
- Experience with budgeting and performance management processes
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
- Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACA, or ACCA)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in FP&A, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
- Expert in Excel/ Google Sheets
- Comfortable working in a manual environment with limited automation
- Experience in the media industry highly advantageous
- Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and presentation abilities
- Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
