Our client, a US-headquartered multinational business with a presence in London, is looking for an ambitious and proactive Indirect Tax Manager to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual keen to develop their career in a dynamic, international business environment, with exposure to both compliance and advisory work.

The successful candidate will join a small but highly collaborative tax team based in London. You will play a key role in managing indirect tax matters for the company’s non-US operations, with a focus on VAT/GST compliance, advisory, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage indirect tax compliance for multiple jurisdictions outside the US.
  • Provide advisory support on VAT, GST, and other indirect tax matters across the business.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure tax matters are well integrated into business processes.
  • Play a key role in the implementation of tax automation and transformation projects, with a focus on process improvement.
  • Liaise with external advisers and manage relationships with local tax authorities when required.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual reporting, ensuring tax returns are filed accurately and on time.
  • Support the team with ad-hoc tax queries and special projects.

This role would suit a first-time mover from practice or someone with a few years’ experience already working in-house at the analyst level.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 1-3 years PQE in indirect tax, preferably with exposure to VAT/GST in an international context.
  • Strong understanding of indirect tax compliance and advisory, ideally with some experience using SAP.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across departments.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • A proactive and enthusiastic attitude towards tax and a keen interest in learning and career development.
  • A tax or accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent) would be beneficial but is not essential.

This vacancy is based in Central London with a requirement to be in the office 3 days a week.

Please note our advertisements use PQE/salary levels purely as a guide. However, we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfil the role.
