You will be part of a Tax Department that manages the tax affairs of the Corporation and provides support and assistance to the Insurance Market on tax matters affecting the Market, including the filing of tax returns and payment of taxes. It also represents the interests of the Insurance Market with UK and overseas tax authorities. The indirect tax team: - Supports the Insurance market in respect of certain premium tax filing services; - Manages the payment of certain taxes for the market; and - Provides generic guidance on indirect tax issues affecting members and syndicates.
Role Purpose:
To prepare premium tax returns for various jurisdictions worldwide and to assist the market with tax queries by maintaining externally available tax information.
Principal Accountabilities
Compile data and prepare premium tax returns for a number of territories.
Prepare market collection schedules.
Prepare payment authorisations.
Have and maintain a detailed knowledge of premium tax rules for the countries for which you administer taxes and a working knowledge for other countries.
Maintain internal IT systems used for gathering data to prepare tax returns
Deal with telephone and email queries from brokers and underwriters
Person specification
Strong data analytic skills and excellent attention to detail
Good communication skills both written and oral
Solid understanding of premium taxes and the ability to develop knowledge of the Insurance Market Experience
Previous premium tax compliance experience
