Indirect Tax Analyst
Profile Summary
Brewer Morris are supporting a growing financial services business with their newly created Indirect Tax hire. This role will support the Head of Indirect Tax in ensuring compliance with indirect and some operational taxation requirements for the relevant business entities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of UK quarterly VAT returns and annual adjustments.
- Assist with the preparation of other EMEA VAT reporting as required, with some UAE jurisdiction coverage.
- Assist with the preparation of UK and other EMEA FATCA/CRS returns.
- Assist with the preparation of the UK Bank and Building Society Interest (BBSI) return for internal review and final sign-off by the Head of Taxation.
- Prepare monthly Withholding Tax reports.
- Conduct VAT review of debtor invoices.
- Assist with the maintenance of policies and procedure documentation for reporting and compliance requirements.
- Assist with ongoing process improvements.
- Provide or assist in providing tax technical advice, particularly in respect of VAT.
- Assist in identifying and implementing new tax legislation that impacts the EMEA region.
- Provide ad hoc support to the Head of Indirect tax and Head of Tax as required.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Technical knowledge of indirect tax, with any operational tax knowledge being beneficial.
- Good excel skills including strong data analysis, manipulation and presentation skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Collaborative nature to contribute to a successful team performance.
