Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage the preparation of federal, state, local, and international income tax returns and related filings for all entities.
  • Evaluates and designs income tax processes and the related technology strategy, approaches this activity with a strong continuous improvement mindset. Responsible for implementing agreed processes.
  • Critically assesses the resource model for tax activities for internal and external decisions to effectively establish and maintain robust tax processes.
  • Manage the implementation and maintenance of IT systems involving tax implications to ensure we are compliant with the tax laws.
  • Coordinates and manages the defense of tax audits and correspondence to tax authorities regarding notices or other requests, amended returns, etc.
  • Understands tax and accounting concepts to perform tax computations in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Analyzes issues to determine nature, scope, and direction of investigation required.
  • Overseas the organization and maintenance of tax work papers, filing records, and relevant correspondence.
  • Actively deploy and collaborate with external tax resources for various projects when necessary and news to stay current on legislative changes and ideas.
  • Support tax and accounting departments with special projects that may be assigned including other areas of tax.
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
  • Assign and complete special projects as necessary and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job will be responsible for supervising and managing the Tax Analyst.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in Accounting from a four-year college or university is required. Seven to ten years of related tax experience and management is required, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have solid computer skills especially with various tax software applications and Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Skills/Experiences

  • Prior industrial manufacturing experience, including working in a high growth environment.
  • Previous systems implementation
  • Masters in Taxation
