This is Europes fasting growing FinTech business, with 3 million users it's succes is in making investing accessible for everyone. The platform allows buying and selling of 100+ digital assets like crypto, stocks, precious metals, ETFs and crypto indices - with a wide range of payment and payout providers. Backed by venture capital and growing at exceptional speed; the business is now valued at a whopping $4.1 billion - more than 3x its earlier valuation - and has over €2bn total trade volume.

Due to this growth and future plans, the group needs a Head of Tax to lead and develop the tax function and bring it to the next level. You will act as a key contact on tax topics for tax advisors and tax authorities, as well as for management and all other stakeholders. Your main responsibility will be to ensure tax compliance in all countries of operation and you will assume responsibility for all tax-related matters in the company. You'll be part of a brand new, optimized-for-Hybrid-working, HQ office located in Austria surrounded by exceptionally talented people. Also with business hubs in the UK, Berlin, Spain, Poland to name a few - with dozens of offices to be opened in short-medium term. About the role:

  • Development and implementation of global tax strategy in conjunction with the CFO and leadership team
  • Development and monitoring of group effective tax rate ensuring tax efficiency for direct and indirect tax positions across the Group
  • Lead the tax department of the Group and become key contact for regulatory tax questions
  • Advise the Group on tax considerations of geographic expansion plans, or implications of a new product launch
  • Development and implementation of transfer pricing framework and strategy for the Group
  • Drive tax risk management and tax reporting
  • Responsibility for local and international tax declarations (e.g CIT, VAT,) on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Preparation of consolidated annual and quarterly tax provision, including statement disclosures and footnotes
  • Monitoring of changes in the tax law, coordination with external tax advisors driving respective implementation within the group
  • Support of various departments in their daily business with tax-related aspects
  • Communication with tax authorities, advisors and inspectors
  • Manage domestic and international tax audits, including responding to international income tax notices

About you:

  • Certified tax accountant
  • Tax experience working in relevant leadership positions for a financial services company
  • Familiarity with EU and other international tax requirements (multi-state tax experience is a plus)
  • Management experience
  • Full professional proficiency (written and verbal) in English is required, German and other languages are considered as a plus
