The Creative Sector Tax team collaborates closely with the Media General Practice and Audit teams, serving a diverse range of clients, from UK independents to multinational corporations.

Recognized as a leading presence across the creative industries, the team works with many well-known names, including:

  • Film and TV production companies (including major streaming platforms)
  • Theatres (both traditional and immersive)
  • Video game developers
  • Orchestras
  • Museums and galleries

The role offers the opportunity to provide compliance and advisory services to a dynamic portfolio of clients.

As part of a growing team the quality of creative sector work and the scope of opportunity available are exceptional.

The team’s strong client base and close relationship with the HMRC Creative Industries policy team position it at the forefront of developments in HMRC practice, enabling valuable advisory support for clients, particularly when planning new productions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering creative sector tax compliance and claims.
  • Conducting relevant technical research.
  • Advising clients on creative sector tax reliefs and optimal structuring for productions.
  • Providing guidance on broader tax-related matters, including employee incentivisation, tax-advantaged capital raising, international tax considerations, and restructuring.
  • Coaching team members and reviewing their work.
  • Supporting business development initiatives, including insight publications and client proposals.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Professionally qualified (CTA/ACA or equivalent).
  • Ideally some relevant experience aligned with the key responsibilities, particularly recent expertise in Film/TV tax relief claims.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment that fosters knowledge sharing and professional development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build rapport and adapt to the evolving nature of media and creative industry clients.
  • Well-rounded technical proficiency and effective project management capabilities.
