About the Role

This position offers the opportunity to manage a portfolio of clients, working closely with senior leadership or independently on complex consultancy and advisory projects. A significant part of the role involves business development, fostering relationships with both new and existing clients, and developing expertise in specific technical or sector areas.

Business Tax Services

The Business Tax team provides a broad range of tax and consulting services to a diverse client base, including housing associations and owner-managed businesses. By developing strong client relationships, the team delivers tailored business tax advice while proactively identifying opportunities and risks.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement:

  • Acting as a trusted advisor, offering strategic and commercial insights
  • Managing a portfolio of complex advisory and compliance cases
  • Providing outstanding client service and nurturing professional relationships
  • Maintaining strong technical expertise and identifying growth opportunities

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Collaborating with senior leadership to support business objectives
  • Conducting staff performance reviews, mentoring junior colleagues, and providing ongoing training
  • Creating a cohesive and supportive team environment through cross-functional collaboration

Practice Growth and Development:

  • Driving business development and local profile-raising initiatives
  • Leveraging professional networks to generate new opportunities and cross-referrals
  • Identifying and capitalizing on marketing and PR activities

Compliance and Professional Development:

  • Ensuring adherence to industry regulations and HMRC guidelines
  • Participating in industry events, training sessions, and ongoing professional development
  • Engaging in continuous learning through research and internal knowledge-sharing

Qualifications and Experience

Education & Certifications:

  • ACA, ACCA, CA, or CTA qualification

Skills & Expertise:

  • Significant corporate tax experience gained within the profession or industry
  • Strong technical tax advisory skills, with the ability to manage complex client matters
  • Proven experience managing staff and fostering client relationships
  • A proactive approach to business development and market growth
  • Project management expertise
  • Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders
