We are looking for an experienced finance professional to take on the role of Accounting Lead EMEA. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing hands‑on involvement with strategic oversight, and who thrives in a fast‑growing international environment.

You will lead a team of six talented accounting professionals who run a strong day‑to‑day operation. After several years of significant expansion, the next phase is all about scalability, structure, and smart process improvement. Your success lies in bringing people along in this transformation, creating efficiencies that genuinely reduce workload rather than add complexity.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with production sites across Europe and the Middle East, acting as the financial link between regional operations and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Oversee timely and accurate statutory reporting across the EMEA region.
  • Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes under US GAAP.
  • Manage VAT, tax filings, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Serve as primary contact for internal and external auditors.
  • Maintain and further strengthen internal controls and SOX‑related processes.

Accounting Operations

  • Own the general ledger for the EMEAI region.
  • Collaborate closely with AP, AR and Payroll to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Contribute to ad‑hoc financial and business projects as needed.
  • Maintain and evolve accounting policies, procedures and documentation.

Team Leadership & Change Management

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of six accounting professionals.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Guide the team through change while maintaining quality and focus.
  • Act as a trusted partner for both local and international stakeholders.

Process & Systems Improvement

  • Identify and implement opportunities for standardisation, automation, and scalability.
  • Work cross‑functionally with IT and operations to improve systems and reporting capabilities.
  • Support the organisation’s growth by building robust and future‑proof finance processes.

Who You Are

  • 8-15 years of experience in accounting, financial control or audit.
  • Either a seasoned auditor looking for a transition into industry, or a professional already operating within the business.
  • Proven experience leading teams combined with a strong track record in change management.
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and EMEA regulatory environments.
  • Comfortable working with ERP systems; experience with Power BI and Blackline is a plus.
  • Hands‑on, analytical, detail‑oriented and pragmatic.
  • Strong communicator who enjoys working across cultures and time zones.
  • Fluent in English, sponsorship is possible, located and working in the Netherlands is a hard requirement.

What Makes This Role Attractive

  • A unique mix of strategic influence and hands‑on impact.
  • The opportunity to shape the next maturity phase of the EMEA finance function.
  • Collaboration with international teams in a dynamic production environment.
  • A strong, committed team ready to grow with you.
  • A role where your improvements meaningfully reduce workload and boost efficiency.
