Job details:	The Investment Management Association (IMA) is the trade body for the UK-based investment management industry – one of the most developed in the world. IMA acts as the representative voice of the industry to politicians, government departments, regulators, European Institutions and the press. We now seek an experienced tax professional who will liaise closely with HMRC, HMT and other regulators to represent the needs of investment managers and their customers. Reporting to the Director of Authorised Funds and Tax, this position will appeal strongly to individuals who wish to help shape tax policy and future legislation and to remain at the forefront of technical tax developments in the investment management industry, while achieving positive work/life balance. Key Responsibities: Monitor, analyse and provide advice on a wide range of direct and indirect, UK/European tax developments and their effect on the fiscal environment for collective investment vehicles, managers and investors Maintain strong relationships with HMRC, HMT, FSA and other relevant authorities Represent IMA in the public domain (relevant tax working groups and EFAMA tax committee meetings) Maintain regular contact with IMA members, regularly participating and presenting on tax issues at meetings Candidate Profile: Professionally qualified (ACA and/or CTA) with a strong record of academic achievement Experienced Senior Tax Manager or Director (financial services tax) in practice in a large accountancy firm or holding a senior in-house tax role in the industry Building on the work of the current incumbent, you will continue to identify priorities and shape the role Strong communicator, able to manage conflicting issues whilst remaining empathetic to the needs of IMA members.
