More than 150 Australian business leaders, including The SR Group’s Mark Pryor, joined 50 of the nation’s best chefs to cook dinner using leftovers for 1,400 homeless and disadvantaged people in Sydney and Brisbane last night.
The fifth OzHarvest CEO CookOff fed people at Barangaroo in Sydney and Brisbane’s Royal International Convention Centre as part of the food-rescue organisation’s annual major fundraiser.
Just some of The SR Group clients who also gave their time so generously to the event included; Allens, Grant Thornton, King & Wood Mallesons, Perpetual Limited and PwC.
CEOs were teamed with acclaimed chefs including Neil Perry, Matt Moran, Guillamume Brahimi and Frank Camorra to prepare a three course meal. They were also joined by hundreds of volunteers including Danny Moore, Kathryn Parry and Gemma Sullivan from The SR Group’s Sydney office.
“What a wonderful night, thanks to each and every one of you for your contribution. OzHarvest’s CEO CookOff is the first in a number of events the firm will be supporting to make a difference to Australia’s most vulnerable and reduce food waste. I’m delighted that we have been able to kick start the year by raising nearly $2,500 for OzHarvest,” Mark said of the evening.
OzHarvest has raised $1.5 million this year, enough money to deliver 3 million meals to people in need. If you would like to donate to OzHarvest, and support our Partner Mark Pryor, please go to Mark’s fundraising page.
